What is colonic hydrotherapy / irrigation?

Colonic Hydrotherapy is an internal bath to help cleanse the colon (large intestine) of poisons, gas, accumulated faecal matter, harmful bacteria and mucus deposits. Filtered water is gently introduced into the colon and special massage techniques are used to help to expel waste products and compacted deposits. Colonic Hydrotherapy has been practised for thousands of years and has its origins in Egypt, Greece and India. It is an integral part of a modern naturopathic approach to health and was used in hospitals until the 1970's . It is a very safe and gentle treatment and it is ultimate detox.

What happens during a treatment?

Your first visit takes 1 and a quarter hours and includes looking at your current diet, and lifestyle and explaining the colonic treatment and answering any questions you may have. Abigail uses a closed Colonic Hydrotherapy system so there is no odour and she carefully regulates the introduction of filtered water throughout the treatment. During the colonic treatment warmed, highly filtered water is gently introduced into the colon using a speculum. An inlet and outlet tube are attached to the the speculum to allow the filtered water in and the waste to be piped away. Disposable equipment and fresh linen and gowns are used for each client to make it fully hygienic. Through the use of gentle massage and other techniques the experienced therapist is able to work loose and eliminate far more toxic waste than any other short-term technique. The treatment can also help to tone, exercise and reshape the colon. It is not embarrassing at all and your modesty and dignity are preserved at all times. The bathroom is next door to the colonic room, you don't have to walk miles to the loo. The therapist discusses the importance of diet and colon health with you and may recommend beneficial changes.

How many colonics will I need?

This can vary depending on your aims and your current state of health. Older wastes that have built up over time may require more cleansing and many people find that having a short course and then occasional maintenance treatments can help them achieve their aims. Other people find that one treatment is a great way to cleanse their system and leave them feeling lighter and more energised. It is fine to come along and try one treatment to see how you find it.

Special Detox Coffee Colonic

The use of the Coffee enema for detoxification purposes has been used by Naturopaths for many years and was used in hospitals up until 1977. The liver filters the blood to clear it of toxins, but due to processed foods, alcohol and medication the liver can become congested and the channels within it can become blocked. This can cause toxins to re-circulate in the body and impaired liver function, which can lead to weight gain, aches and pains, cellulite, headaches, hormone and skin problems and other health issues.

When properly administered, a coffee implant (using fresh, organic coffee) causes the liver to produce more bile and open the bile ducts. This enables the bile to quickly flow out of the liver. During this process, a toxic liver can dump many of its toxicants into the bile, getting rid of them in just a few minutes. This can give rapid relief to all parts of the body. It can easily make the difference between someone feeling so poorly they have to lie down, or feeling well enough to keep active.

Other benefits of the coffee implant can include quick relief from fatigue, pain, headaches and malaise that even pain medication can't touch. Many patients also report an increased sense of well-being, and believe it or not, coffee implants help many people relax and get a good nights sleep.

Probiotic Implants

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that reside in the colon. The body works hard to maintain a balance between these helpful and harmful micro-organisms but a less than optimal diet, a weakened immune system, antibiotics and other medication can all cause an imbalance For people with problems such as allergies, IBS, systemic candida, bloating, constipaton, a compromised immune systems, might consider colon hydrotherapy followed by a rectal infusion of probiotic. Following a colonic treatment live probiotic bacteria are implanted using a catheter which is gently inserted into the patient's colon. Implanting the probiotics directly into the colon greatly increases the absorption and effectiveness of probiotics since they do not have to survive the stomach acid in order to reach their destination.

Bowel Facts

The healthy transit time of food through our bodies should be less than 24 hours. On average in the UK it is now 60 hours for men and 70 for women. Even those on a “good” diet can be surprised by the amount of faecal waste that has accumulated in their colon For all of these reasons, almost everyone can benefit from colon cleansing and an improved diet and lifestyle. Book a treatment and start to feel the benefits now!
